We visited all the centers

Hi Am,

We just finished our work with B. and A. They left me
more empowered than ever before. We visited all the centers and spoke to
all the 4 principals. We all appreciate that there is more work to be done
at different organisational level. I guess they have a lot to share
with you and Regina when they get back. I must say from my part things went
very very well as i have been anticipating. They stayed with us in the
rural village of Bomela for 1 and half days. It was great time to
spent with the village people and chatting about all sorts of things. I
showed them the problematic Server mearnt for Zimbabwe and they took pictures
for your consideration. Clealry you and I have a long road and a
lot of work ahead of us in ensuring that these centers run efficiently. We
have signed the Linuxola agreement, developed an propsal summary
conatining a memorandum of understanding for the host schools. Schools have to
signed this or If they refuse I will be pulling out. B. suggested
that we go a non-profit organisation way. We will be proceeding with the
registration of this one while they will be talking for their
reports to SDC and convinve them to fund the current registered format CC.

Thank a million for the presents guys. You continue to make a
difference in my life and you refuse you let me get down. You give me the
reason to hold on to this work and continue in this path. I feel at least
somewhere there are people who believe in what we do. Once more it
shows clearly that I was never wrong about choosing guys over
R. and J. You are my constant fountain of hope and courage.

After the meetings with B. and A. I am convinced that
Linuxola has great potential within my wings.

I still await your response on the hiccups we have experienced with
Center 1. I hope you will get back to me as soon as possible.

I feel so lifted up and am glad to stand on your shoulders guys.

Once more thank you ever so much for the gesture of kindness. You made
my day unforgettable.

All the best,
Mlondi

two weeks stormy winds

Hi Amadeus,
I received your request for progress report from my side.
In Idutywa we had  two weeks stormy winds that destroyed
power lines and houses. We just got electricity yesterday.
Yesterday I visited the first center I started with to finish
the installation. I had a fight we the school principal and
his teachesr for being inefficient in terms of not communicating
with me to tell me if they have the trainer and other things
i need from them such as power plugs and few extension
cords. They flattly refused and I told them that am pulling
out if they don't want to buy these things. But eventually
they decided to buy them, I will be going back the in a
weeks time because there is electricity now to finish off
and start with interviews for a trainer. The second school
is still busy constructing security for their lab. This group
is promising not to give me trouble. The third is consulting
with the all stakeholder, hopefully by next week we might
get a decision if whether they are coming on aboard of what.

This work is hectic for me alone. People don't get attracted
because there is no money in it. Myself I feel tired and not
enough challenged. There is no money for my living, we
depend on kids payment sometimes they pay and sometimes
they dont. I have deciced to move on in the next two years.
I cant stay on living from hand to mouth like this. I will make
sure the center run smoothly by other trainers and I will be
a supervisor. The bank account is through. In three weeks
time I will be getting the bank account. The process of
bringing other 5 guys on board is still a process by CIPRO.

I am glad Barbara is coming to RSA.
best wishes

process of registration

Hi Barbara,
I would like to inform you that the process of registration is now complete and we are ready to move forward with the SDA funding and depositing of the money into the account. I have already spoken to Nomfundo at SDA and she asked me to tell you about these developments so that you can catalyse and all the necessary processes.
I would be very glad if you can call me so that we can talk about how the process is going to unfold from here forth. We are ready with the bank details and the name of the person to host the money. Now I don't know the first step to take. please lets talk about it as soon as possible. I reckon SDA will await the outcomes of our conversation and take it from there.

Amadeus tells me that you are coming to RSA in August, I would be so happy to meet you and take you around our projects in the Eastern Cape.

Regards,
  Mlondi

Re: Partlist!

Hi Amadeus,
Thanks very much Amadeus for the great work you are
doing for us. yes ofcourse I remember the day, we even

birthday was celebrated in style by installations
themselves.
Anyways, i take this ealy moment to say happy
birthday to you and may you grow to be proud and
strong in great things you do for the
under-dedvelopment. may you never change no matter the
shape of the wind.

I will await your later updates on the shipment.the
center is already working with kids in numbers and few
adults are still coming in from the village. We hope
to have the great year ahead.

  i will keep in touch

Re: container and pictures

Hi,
thank you very much for this info and I am committed
to the terms agreed upon between you and Freecom.
My next step as from now is to visit two potential
school sites which are designated for the two centers
we have been talking about. These are schools in
Willowvale about 200km from Idutywa where we are based
at the moment. I will be speaking to the principals
and members of the communities as I have been doing
last year. So it's a continuation of that process.
Together with this, I will be searching, identifying
and interviewing some of the learners that went
through my training program as facilitators in those
two centers. Now is the time to raise the awareness on
the schools about the needs and demands of the center.
Security, accommodation and safety of the programme. I
will be just reviving the talks we had last year.

Yes I have been talking to transport companies. I
think I will use a train from Cape Town to PE and a
car from PE to Transkei. So yes money from USA will be
used.

  I await yoiiur reply.
  peace and wild

Center Idutywa-Bomela Village

Hi,

This is the last week in Idutywa as we closed the
center for holidays. In this same week our students
will be writing their last Internet exams and I will
mark their scripts and give their certificates. All
must be done in this weeks. I work with target and I
plan to meet them. As I speak am in East London to
collect Linuxola Golf-Shirts and will be handed over
to their owners tomorrow. I think everybody is happy
with the progress our linuxola center has made this
year.
I am stronlgy confident that come 2006, we will get
ways and means to transport the computers from your
side. A soluble in on the horizon, I believe. Would be
glad to share with Barbara in her experiances in
Africa. This could help me shape a new direction for
our center so that we can stand a good chance of
getting money from the donors. Atleasr she has a feel
of how these people think of our work considering they
have checked the proposal and the website. I am will
to modify our project and work it to suit certain
profesional standards.

so yeah am looking forward to you hearing from her and
you of the meeting and her experiences.

pass my regards to all.
